Nature's Immunity at Work

Happy Healthy Cows

At Heritage Farm & Dairy, we believe in raising our cows the way nature intended — with sunlight, fresh air, and clean pasture at the heart of every day. Our A2 herd reflects a holistic, earth-centered philosophy of herd health. Rather than relying on pharmaceuticals, we focus on building natural resistance through strong genetics, optimal nutrition, and regenerative land stewardship.

Our cows thrive outdoors on diverse grasslands, where their immune systems are naturally strengthened through daily exposure to living soil, clean water, and seasonal cycles. This balance between environment and biology fosters natural immunity and overall vitality — creating a herd that remains healthy, calm, and productive without chemical interference.

Holistic Herd Management at Heritage Farm & Dairy

  • Pasture-Based Diets – Fresh forage rich in phytonutrients, omega-3s, and minerals builds immune resilience and produces nutrient-dense milk.

  • Low-Stress Living – Calm, open environments reduce cortisol and support both animal and milk health.

  • Natural Supplements – Probiotic and herbal supports such as garlic, kelp, and apple-cider vinegar promote digestive strength and disease resistance.

  • Closed Herd Management – Each animal’s microbiome develops in harmony with our land — a living ecosystem that stays balanced without industrial inputs.

This gentle, nature-first approach honors the cow’s innate biology and immune intelligence. At Heritage Farm & Dairy, we see our herd not as production units, but as living partners in a thriving, regenerative agricultural ecosystem.

Purity You Can Taste,

Transparency You Can Trust

Every bottle of milk from Heritage Farm & Dairy reflects the purity of our process and the integrity of our land. Our naturally raised A2 cows produce milk celebrated for its clean flavor, creamy texture, and full nutritional character — just as nature designed it. Families choose our products for their authenticity and for the peace of mind that comes from knowing exactly where their food originates.

At Heritage Farm & Dairy, we prioritize prevention through natural herd health, but when illness does occur, antibiotics are used only when absolutely necessary to ensure the wellbeing of the animal — never as a routine practice. This careful, compassionate approach keeps our herd healthy while maintaining the purity and integrity of our milk.

We believe healthy cows raised on healthy land produce the healthiest milk. For those who value transparency, sustainability, and naturally derived nutrition, Heritage Farm & Dairy offers a genuine connection to the land — farming as it once was: guided by nature, supported by knowledge, and sustained by care.

OUR A2 MILK

Let's talk milk! Specifically A1 vs. A2 milk.

I'm sure most people are scratching their heads and thinking, "Milk is Milk." Well, that's not the case.

A1 milk is produced by cows that originated in Northern Europe. Most of these breeds - Ayrshire, British Shorthorn, Holstein, and Milking Friesians - are what is most popular in the United States and where most of the milk in the stores comes from. A2 milk is produced in cows - Jersey, Guernsey, Normande and Brown Swiss - that originated mostly from France with the exception of the Brown Swiss which originated from Switzerland.

So, why is A1 and A2 important? I'm glad you asked!

Cow's milk has 80% casein protein and it provides our bodies with amino acids to help build muscle. But, where A1 and A2 differ is the 67th amino acid, out of the 209 amino acids that cow's milk has. A1 milk is made up of histidine amino acid and upon breakdown in our bodies it produces the peptide BCM-7. This peptide can impact some people's blood pressure, how our blood clots and can even have an impact on our immune system. But, the main complaint people have with A1 milk is the uncomfortable digestion; upset stomach, gas, diarrhea, etc. There are, however, some research groups that believe the peptide BCM-7 to be linked to type 1 diabetes, sudden infant death, autism, and heart disease.

A2 milk, on the other hand, does not produce the BCM-7 peptide upon our bodies breaking it down. Which means it doesn't create any of the unpleasant side effects that A1 milk can. A2 milk may also be tolerated to those who have a dairy allergy. This is because it's not necessarily the milk itself causing the problem but in how our bodies break down the milk. Let's take someone who believes or has been told they are lactose intolerant for an example. This person may not even be able to consume lactose free dairy products, which is because it probably isn't the lactose that is causing the problems but rather the person's sensitivity to the A1 beta-casein in the milk products.

A2 milk also has many health benefits which increase if you keep your milk raw!

On the flip-side, pasteurization of milk does the opposite for your health:

  • Reduce the presence of copper and iron.

  • Reduce Vitamins A, B Complex, C and E

  • Reduce the bioavailability of calcium and phosphorus

  • Destroys beta-lactoglobulin, which decreases the absorption of Vitamin A and D

  • Destroys probiotics

So, this is why we choose to only Drink Raw A2/A2 Milk and to sell it to all of our customers! We suggest looking into A2 raw milk and doing research of your own if you are still in doubt!
